Sledding

Last Thursday Kansas City got nailed with snow...I think we ended up with 8-10-inches at our house.  I worked from home both Thursday and Friday since the roads were really bad and Ryan of course got stuck in Nashville until Friday.  By Friday afternoon we had finally dug out and the streets were cleared and so Saturday morning we decided to try to take Beckett sledding.

There aren't really an hills in our neighborhood so we took B to a nearby Church in which has had seen people sledding at previously.  We went early Saturday morning so we were the only people there are first which was good.  Poor B had so much garb on he could barely walk so Ryan carried him while I carried the sleds from the parking lot to the hill.  I was a little concerned when we finally made it to the hill as it was much steeper than what I had thought.  Of course because of this I sent Ryan down first to give it a test run while Beckett and I waited at the top.  Of course he went flying, but made it down the hill without totally wiping out.  The only casualty was that he broke one of the two new sleds we had just bought not even 10-feet from his departure spot at the top of the hill :)

After I took a test run down the hill, Ryan took a turn down with Beckett in his lap.  I was concerned because I thought that Beckett might be scared since the hill was so big, but much to my surprise Ryan said Beckett giggled the entire way down and once they came to a stop at the bottom of the hill Beckett kept signing "more".  And so down and down and down some more we kept going until about an hour had passed.  I think Beckett would have kept going, but both Ryan and I were exhausted.  Not from going down, but the climbing back up and doing so with Beckett in your arms was very tiring.  All and all is was a total blast and safe to say something we will probably do again soon since Kansas City is suppose to get another 8-12 inches of snow tonight!
